Green tea is more than just a delicious beverage you can buy at a café. Green tea is also considered a very popular weight-loss supplement. In addition, it can enhance your blood sugar regulation and even improve fat cell turnover. Green tea is not a magical supplement that enhances your metabolic health instantly but it is very helpful. Provident Clinical Research, in Bloomington, Indiana’s, Kevin Maki, actually displayed a reduction in blood triglycerides (blood fats), subcutaneous abdominal fat (under the skin), total abdominal fat and in those who drink green tea beverage containing 625 mg of catechins and 39 mg of caffeine for a twelve week period compared to a placebo (green tea excluding catechins or caffeine).

In addition, the experiment included 180 minutes weekly of moderate-intensity exercise. Caffeine and catechins— particularly epigallocatechin-3-gallate— speed metabolism and fight fat. There were more studies take that found that green tea extract enhanced the conversion of testosterone to estrogen in fat cells. This may actually have negative effects in men who are trying to get larger and ultra-ripped. On the other hand, green tea is an excellent fat fighter that harmonizes the effects of exercise. Though, some individuals should be very cautious.
