Lack of sleep manipulates the hormones that control your appetite. So, lack of sleep increases ghrelin and decreases leptin, which causes us to consume more food.
Late Night Television and Computer Use Can Trigger Obesity
An evaluation of the literature from the Nutrition and Food Sciences Department at the University of Vermont discovered that over-using computers and TV at night can hinder sleep and cause obesity. Most people normally consume more food when they’re not getting sleep. Also, lack of sleep could also tamper with metabolic control mechanisms that control appetite, physical activity levels and metabolic rate. Make sure that you get your 8 hours of sleep if you want to lose weight.
