Excessive fat around your organs such as the abdomen can reduce metabolic health and lead to a stroke, diabetes and even a heart attack. Heart fat also referred to as epicardial fat prevents movement of the heart and boost blood pressure. Abdominal fat encourages insulin resistance, which disturbs important chemicals that control blood pressure and blood flow.
Study Proves that Endurance Training Reduces Fat
Researchers involved in a Japanese study discovered that twelve weeks of endurance training (3 times a week for 1 hour) reduced epicardial and abdominal fat. In addition, blood pressure reduced in direct proportion to decreases in heart fat. Exercise considered to be a great method for reducing both heart and abdominal fat and enhancing metabolic health.
